Grant Evans
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman

Grant Evans joined ActivIdentity in March 2008. As chief executive officer and chairman of the Board of Directors he is responsible for the overall direction and management of the company. Mr. Evans’ more than 22 years of operating experience ranges from building start-ups to senior-level management of multi-hundred million dollar private and publicly traded companies. Mr. Evans served from January 2003 to March 2007 as the chief executive officer and as a director of A4Vision, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of machine vision technology for identity security. He served from March 1999 to March 2002 as the executive vice president at Identix, Inc., a publicly traded developer and manufacturer of identification technology solutions. Mr. Evans was also previously vice president and general manager of Identicator Technology and was responsible for leading the company's strategic direction and launching the commercial biometric market. Mr. Evans sits on the Board of Directors of 3VR and has served on the following boards and advisory boards: Bioscrypt Inc., U.S. Congressman Honda's Blue Ribbon Security Board for Homeland Security, the American Electronics Association Executive Advisory Committee, and the Comdex Advisory Board on Security.

Jacques D. Kerrest
Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Jacques Kerrest joined ActivIdentity in August 2008. As chief financial officer and chief operating officer he is responsible for leading the successful development and implementation of best-of-breed financial systems and controls, managing operations, and engineering a scalable infrastructure to support future growth. Previously, Mr. Kerrest served as chief financial officer of Virgin Media Inc., the second-largest communications company in the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for overseeing every aspect of finance. Before then, he was managing director and chief financial officer of Equant N.V., and prior to then he was chief financial officer of Harte-Hanks, Inc. and Chancellor Broadcasting Company. Mr. Kerrest holds master’s degrees in International Management, Business Administration, and Economics from U.S. and French universities.

Michael Sotnick
Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Field Operations

Michael Sotnick joined ActivIdentity in December 2008. As executive vice president of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations he is responsible for driving strategic relationships with global customers and partners focused on strong authentication and credential management. Industry emphasis is placed on enterprise accounts, financial services, and government organizations. The team executes on account management, new product introduction to the market, and growth initiatives. Prior to his tenure at ActivIdentity, Mr. Sotnick served as senior vice president of Small and Midsize Enterprises (SME) for SAP® America, Inc., where he was responsible for defining and executing the SAP channel and partner strategy in the SME market. Before joining SAP, Mr. Sotnick served as vice president of Partner Sales for VERITAS Software Corporation (acquired by Symantec™ in 2005). At VERITAS, he established the global multi-tier channel strategy and managed North American partner sales. Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Sotnick served as vice president of Global Partner Sales, where he was responsible for the formation and execution of go-to-market partnerships with VERITAS systems integration, application, platform, and hardware partners. Before then, Mr. Sotnick was managing director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for Seagate Software. In that role, he was responsible for driving all sales and marketing activities across the EMEA region. Mr. Sotnick holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Hartford.

John Boyer
Senior Vice President, Engineering

John Boyer joined ActivIdentity in 2001. As senior vice president of Engineering he is responsible for managing the global engineering organization in accordance with the strategic and financial objectives of ActivIdentity. Before being appointed to this role in November 2008, Mr. Boyer held a number of senior engineering management roles in the company, most recently as chief architect. Prior to joining ActivIdentity, Mr. Boyer worked at a number of technology companies, including American Biometric Company, Chrysalis-ITS, Unibex, and Bell-Northern Research. Mr. Boyer has broad experience in engineering management, technical strategy, research, and software architecture, and a deep knowledge of ActivIdentity strategy, customers, products, and technology. Mr. Boyer holds a bachelor of engineering degree in Computer System Engineering, as well as master of applied science and doctorate degrees, with a specialization in Electrical Engineering, from Carleton University, Canada. He has published extensively in international journals and conferences in the area of wireless communication engineering, and holds a number of patents granted and pending in the fields of enterprise security and authentication.

Dominique Fedronic
Chief Technology Officer

Dominique Fedronic joined ActivIdentity in 1995. As chief technology officer he is responsible for leading and directing strategic and technical decisions regarding the company's products and services. Before being appointed to this role, Mr. Fedronic held senior roles of increasing responsibility in the engineering organization, most recently as senior vice president of Engineering. Prior to joining ActivIdentity, Mr. Fedronic worked at Fintel as a business engineer. Before, he was director of services at Force Informatique. Previously, Mr. Fedronic was a staff research assistant at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory Heidelberg in Germany. Mr. Fedronic holds a master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Université de Paris Nord, Galileo Institute in Paris, France. While working at ActivIdentity, Mr. Fedronic has made major contributions to the design and standards development of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Smart Card Interoperability program and the U.S. Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) program. In addition, Mr. Fedronic has served on the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors since 2007.

Jerome Becquart
Vice President, Products and Services

Jerome Becquart joined ActivIdentity in 1996. As vice president of Products and Services he is responsible for executing ActivIdentity product strategy by overseeing the company’s product management team; building, managing, and scaling technical support operations globally; and leading the company’s best practice consulting, integration, and training services. Before being appointed to this role, Mr. Becquart held roles of increasing responsibility within the organization, most recently as vice president of Product Management. Prior to joining ActivIdentity, Mr. Becquart worked at VeriFone as a lead engineer. Before, he was an assistant representative at SGN-Cogema in Taiwan. Mr. Becquart holds a master’s degree in Telecommunications from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and a master of science degree in Telecommunications from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Rennes.

Simon Wakely
Vice President, Business Development

Simon Wakely joined ActivIdentity in 2002. As vice president of Business Development he is responsible for building industry collaborations and driving the expansion of the addressable market through brokering original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnerships, managed service partnerships, and global technology alliances. Before taking on this role, Mr. Wakely was director of European Sales at ActivIdentity. During Mr. Wakely’s long tenure in the security software sector he has held various senior sales, channel management, and business development positions at Baltimore Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, and RSA®, The Security Division of EMC.

Torsten George
Vice President, Worldwide Marketing

Torsten George joined ActivIdentity in July 2007. As vice president of Worldwide Marketing he is responsible for driving company growth through branding, public relations, solutions marketing, and field marketing activities. Mr. George was initially recruited to apply his expertise in software-as-a-service and assist in building a new business unit from ground up. Prior to joining ActivIdentity, Mr. George served nearly six years as chief marketing officer for Digital Link, a leading network communications equipment vendor. At Digital Link he managed the corporate marketing, channel marketing, product marketing, product management, business development, and customer services groups. Before his tenure at Digital Link, Mr. George was senior director of marketing for Everdream® Corporation (acquired by Dell), a desktop management service provider. Previously, Mr. George was director of international marketing and products for a renowned software vendor, where he led the re-launch of the company from a core provider of programming tools for developers to customer relationship management (CRM) software. Mr. George started his career as a business consultant at an international consultancy before moving into a product marketing position at an intelligent transportation systems company in Germany. Mr. George has published numerous books and articles in industry publications. Known for his dedication to the channel, his innovative channel programs have won frequent awards. Mr. George is a member of the advisory board of Cordys, a global provider of software for business process innovation and Enterprise Cloud Orchestration, and served on the advisory board of Solid Information Technologies prior to its acquisition by IBM. Mr. George holds a doctorate in Economics, a master of business administration degree in Marketing and Business Strategy, and a bachelor of science degree in Law.
