ActivEntry Mobile Access Control

The ActivIdentity ActivEntry Mobile suite of products allows government agencies to use Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards for mobile access control. The products allow for the mobile authentication and validation of government issued credentials and for secure access to attributes associated with these credentials.

The ActivEntry Mobile products provide authorized personnel with the ability to confidently control access to any site by quickly authenticating and validating the identities and privileges of individuals wishing to enter an area. These capabilities are critical in scenarios that require accurate information about credential holders, but where network connectivity is unreliable – scenarios such as:

• First Responder access control for natural disasters and homeland security incidents
• access control to remote government properties or leased offices
• maritime and transportation security
• border control and perimeter security.

The solution consists of server software which draws information from multiple independently maintained sources; this information is then published to handheld devices in a highly compressed format. This data is used to validate identities, check privileges, and display results. Participating organizations at the city, regional and national levels maintain their ownership of the identity and privilege databases. The solution synchronizes this information dynamically using wired or wireless connections. Devices are always up-to-date with the latest information and operate seamlessly when there is no network connectivity.
